An Idea

I had an idea last night. I think it's pretty cool.

I was talking to Mike and I started thinking about how when people talk about the happiest day of their lives, it's usually the day they got married or the day their first child was born or something. And then I thought, you know, there are a lot of other days that are just amazing even if no significant events are happening. I know I've had days where I just feel so happy I could burst, and I think they qualify. But the thing is, I know I've had more days like that than the few I can remember, and it's a shame that I can't remember those others.

So my idea, then, was this: What if I had a journal where I wrote about any day that I thought might end up being one of those days? It could be my Happiest Day of My Life journal, and just be full of entries about times where I felt really fantastic. I feel like that might be kind of a nice thing to look back on when I'm older.

So what do you think? Is it something you would do?

I love this! (Also, because I'm a nerd I thought, "Or a happiest day of my life blog!")

Haha! Megan! Like we all need another blog?

Miri. I love this. I think I love it more because it isn't a blog. With all the blogging I do, I have started to miss actual writing - hence my book journal.

Hey, maybe YOU don't. :)

I wouldn't actually start a blog about this, but the idea of creating one always sounds fun - and I tend to actually maintain blogs, as opposed to dedicated journals, which I forget about after a little while because I don't see it every day. :) (But as a student, I still do plenty of actual writing, so maybe someday I'll actually be able to miss it.)

Personally I prefer handwritten journals because I am old-school like that, and they're more permanent. :) But also a lot of people don't blog as much as we do, and for them to start a blog like that might be a fun idea.

Also, yay! I'm glad you like the idea.

I really like this idea Miri and sort of do something like this. When I was two my mom started a journal for me. Basically she would ask me "what was the best part and worst part of your day." So in my journal (although I am hardly a faithful journal writer) I try to at least do best part/worst part. Sometimes you don't want to remember the worst part but it does put things into perspective where you life is at that point. When I was two the worst part was when my cousin picked his nose, when I was 14 it was a boy that wouldn't look at me and now as a mom it might be...a premature wake up from a nap :)

I think it's a great idea Miri

brilliant! the sad parts of journals always end up seeming sort of lame and embarrassing when i look back on them anyway, so it would be nice to have one that is just lovely.
