Annilygreen on Etsy

This blog won't typically be a place where you are inundated with posts about buying things, but this is an occasion to help out and encourage a Lovely Reader and I love it when that happens.

I'm in love with the close-up shots of her pillows, too. I would frame that.

Annie and I are constantly talking about the state of our Etsy shops, but Annie has finally really got hers up and running and it is wonderful (check it out at annilygreen on etsy). I'm a sucker for pillows anyway, but she makes beautiful and unique pillows AND she gives them clever names. I'm a double sucker for pillows with clever names. In fact, I've been stalking her pillows since she posted them (one in particular, but I'm not telling which because I don't want someone to get it before I can). She also makes great little baggies.

And now to the real point. Annie was just accepted to be a vendor at The Beehive Bazaar, but the cost of participation is high and the deadline is approaching quickly. We are not asking for donations, just helping with some advertising in the hopes that someone out there will like what they see over at annilygreen* and buy a pillow or some baggies. Maybe you are even in the midst of a search for a great pillow for your couch! I am always in the midst of a search for a pillow to put somewhere...even though I already own far too many pillows. Either way, your search ends here! Check out the pillows and help a sister out! That's what we're here for, right?

This one is made from a jacket from a thrift store! How can you not love that?!

*She does custom orders, people! Don't see anything up there in the colors you love? Just give her a shout and she will hook you up.

An Opportunity

We aren't really starting up again till Monday, but I felt I needed to share this opportunity with all of you.

We received an email about a project called "We Are Women" which centers on the divine attributes of women. Here's some of what it said:

This project will focus mainly on a series of essays that are written by various women.... Complementing these essays will be black-and-white photographs of women whom we know, love, and respect.

The essays and photographs will be compiled into a book. The proceeds of that book will be donated to the Campaign to End Fistula.

The public may submit black-and-white photographs to be included in the book until Tuesday, January 12, 2010. The photographs must center on aspects of womanhood.

The book will be self-published through lulu.com and be available in April for purchase.

If you are interested in submitting a photo, read more about it HERE or send one in to allisonabarnes@byu.net

Buttons!

Hello lovely friends!

We've had a few requests for blog buttons from some lovely people who want to promote this idea on their own blogs. We love your enthusiasm! Your requests have been heard (or anticipated!) and now, thanks to my fabulous sister-in-law Linda, we have several options for you to choose from. (By the way, Linda does amazing work. Check out her awesome website, VisitingTeaching.net.) We think these buttons based on Lindsey's design are absolutely beautiful, and we're so grateful to Linda for taking the time to create the buttons and the code for us, as well as for hosting the images on her website for us. We truly would not have been able to pull it off without her.
By the way, the ones at the bottom with the blue circles in the background will show up see-through on your blog, so whatever color is behind them will show through. Neat, huh?

Okay. So here's how it works in her words:

To display the button just copy all of the html code in the box below the button you want and paste it into your blog. Or in other words just add an html widget to your layout and paste the text in it! If you need to adjust the size of the button to fit your blog or site, just replace “200″ with whatever will fit best (something smaller or larger than 200 in both height and width - in case you aren't clear on that.)

Let us know if you have any questions and thanks for being so excited to share this idea with your friends!

Update: We now also have a button that matches the new blog template from Jerilyn Design. The rest are still the wonderful buttons created by Linda.
