Dove Evolution

A wonderful video I've had pointed out to me several times recently.

Indeed, no wonder our perception of beauty is distorted: what we're seeing isn't even always real. So let's stop wishing for something we can't have and be happy with what we've got.

When they made her eyes bigger it reminded me of the Uglies books. Haha. Bigger eyes are a sign of beauty! Also symmetrical faces!

It's amazing that make-up was not enough to beautify the model. They had to digitally "enhance" her neck and eyes. It's all so fake! Yet that is the measure of our self-esteem..

I also like this from the dove campaign. It reminds me of this blog every time I see it on line.

For the record, I think she looks beautiful after they finish makeup, and ridiculous after the computer editing. At the end she looks like a bug.

Wow, that was incredible. I wonder how that makes the model feel - she knows that she was not naturally "good" enough, in addition to the clueless public, comparing themselves to a fantasy? (BTW, who wants to bet that it was a guy working the Photoshop?...)
